When the holidays come around I love to decorate. I have a hard time picking holiday decor or sometimes its not in my budget to buy them. So I got creative and made these easy paper ornaments that anyone can make!
Every parent cringes to those words.
There are a million of ways to training your little one. There are different techniques from the potty boot camp to start training them at months old. All of them are great and have the same end result. As a parent you have to determine how and when is the right time to potty train.
Finally got my Ipsy bag! I don't know if it's just me but these bags are getting better and better every month. Well at least for me. My make up collection is shaping up and it's more due to my recent ipsy subscriptions.
You must be very curious about me. After all you are on my "About Me" section.
It's alright! I would've done the same.
Let's start off my by an introduction!
My name is Maritza. I currently live in Saint Cloud, FL. Originally from Miami, Fl. I moved to Central Florida over 5 years ago with my boyfriend (now husband) and loving it ever since.
Don't get me wrong I do miss Miami, especially their Cuban/Latin Cuisine! If you know of a good place up here then comment down below or email me.(ASAP!)
You are probably curious about the title "Surprise You Are A Mom!"
Well it's simple.
I wasn't aware I was pregnant until I was in labor.
I always get the 'deer in the headlights' look or 'wishing they experience their pregnancy like mines' reactions. It's alright if you go either way. I am already used to it by now.
At first I didn't want to share this cause I felt embarrassed. But then I wondered if there are other moms out there feeling the same way. So I created my blog in hopes to connect with other moms.
And as for the baby. Her name is Jinx and turned out healthy and happy.
I was very lucky indeed!
She is our pride and joy and the reason I started blogging and became a stay-at-home-mom.
My husband, Bryan, and I are each other's support system throughout all of this. We have been together for almost 10 years and married for 3 years.
When we learned about our pregnancy (I should say short pregnancy) my husband kept his cool and joked that he now can't buy a retro arcade game for our guestroom. If it weren't for him I think I would of freaked out.
Now we live in our new house that we recently purchased (Feb 2014). We are slowly getting our house in order and putting our personal touch.
If you want to continue to know about me then follow my blog.
I share my experiences as a mom, share DIY/crafts, reviews and you can hop over to my YouTube Channel to watch our Vlogs and other videos.
Don't be a stranger! So comment down below every post/video!

I've lived in Central Florida for over 5 years and I've personally never heard of Give Kids The World Village before. I was surprise to find this place in the middle of all the Central Florida attractions.
School is in session! This month's theme is Beauty Schooled.
So it is only appropriate that this month's bag is shaped as a pencil case.
I enjoyed majority of the items in this bag. Some of these items/brands I've never heard of. This is one of the great things about the monthly subscription (which is $10/month!!) is that you can test out new products without forking over a larger amount of money.
Today I am bring you another DIY using PicMonkey! Like I said in my previous video/post I am not sponsored by PicMonkey. I just like using their site for editing videos, creating collages and much more.
The purpose of DIY-ing (don't really think that's a word lol) is to customize my party gear. The Despicable Me Party supplies that I found at the party store were very boyish to me so I decided to create my own.
I absolutely love Etsy but sometimes those customized invites can become pricey. Don't get me wrong I truly support small businesses but sometimes your budget can become play a factor in your purchases.
Hi guys! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
I've been really behind in posting my vlogs.
So today I am sharing them. Instead of making multiple videos I created two.
The June 23-29 ,2014 was edited way in advance before I things got a little too much for me ( You can read more about it here)
Therefore I have two videos.
In the first video I filmed my daughter playing Zoo Tycoon on the XBOX. She really enjoyed "interacting" with the animals. Even though it looks like a simple game it actually more of a build of a business type of game. My husband loves those strategy kind of games. We are glad we can have our daughter engage with us playing video games.
As far as I can remember my mom always wore sunglasses. We lived in sunny Miami, Florida so I didn't really think it was big deal. In my teenage years I really loved wearing sunglasses. They were always a great accessory. Girls just love to accessorize and I was no exception. Again never really thinking about if it were beneficial for my eyes.
Over the years my husband pokes fun of the variety of sunglasses that I own. He doesn't understand why I have so many (which I don't). But now I have acquired some knowledge , thanks to The Vision Council, that can help my argument and probably change my husband's view on sunglasses.
If you follow me on Instagram I have a variety of pictures of my daughter and I. And majority of them are of us wearing sunglasses. She has a bigger collection that I do and she is only three!
Without me realizing it I am creating good habits for my daughter which will protect her for the future.
Just by simply having her wear sunglasses.
You might be askingwhy are protecting your eyes so important?
It's highly important more for children from infant age till they are 18 years old to protect their eyes since their eyes are not fully developed yet. The reason being that children receive THREE times the annual adult dose of UV radiation since their eyes are not fully developed. In a mature eye, behind the iris there is a lens which filter out the UV but children under 18 years old don't have this fully developed.
Before I had my daughter and even after I always thought it was funny that stores would sell sunglasses for infants/children. Always perceived it was a way to have parents fall into "oh so cute" trap to spend money on them. Little did I know at the time that there was a purpose for them!
I know I am emphasizing to protect your children's eyes but you, as an adult, have to protect your eyes as well. There are short term and long term vision problems that are due to not protecting your eyes.
In the short term you have things such as Photokeratitis (fancy word for sunburn on the eye), irritation, redness, swelling, and hyper sensitivity to light.
This can happen at the beach/pool to just walking down the street. Yes these are short term issues that will go away but as you get older you will see the long term UV-related eye damage. Such as premature aging of the skin (wrinkles and sunspots), pterygium (abnormal growths on the eye and eyelid), Cataracts, Macular degeneration, Cancer of the eye, eyelid and surrounding skin.
Just as we protect our skin with sunblock we must protect our eyes. But how do you protect yours eyes? It is simple! Just by wearing UV protective eyewear (UVA & UVB) is a great start! You can even go further by finding the sunglasses that have the following : anti-reflective (cut down on glare this will minimize squinting), impact resistant ( it doesn't crack or break into the eye) , mirror coated, photochromic (great for those who wear eyeglasses), polarized, warparound, or scratch resistant. You won't find everything in one pair of sunglasses but these are just an added bonus.
The Vision Council was nice enough to send me some cool 100% UV and polarized sunglasses from TUMI. Also Jinx is adding another pair of sunglasses to her collection. They are from a brand called Banz World of the Banz Adventure line. I honestly never heard of this brand before. I feel that these would be perfect for those with infants since it wraps around the head and it has an adjustable Velcro.
There are a variety of sunglasses out there from different colors to different frameworks as well as price.
You don't have to break your budget to protect your eyes. Just remember to look for sunglasses that are UV protective.
I am so appreciative that my mom has influenced me into wearing sunglasses on a daily basis. If it weren't for her I know that I would have a higher chance of having UV related eye problems in the future.
With her influence I am now creating a great habit for my daughter and protecting her as well.
Today(June 27) is National Sunglasses Day!! So share your #SunglassSelfie on The Vision Council's Facebook or twitter (@opticalindustry) and don't forget to use #NationalSunglassesDay

Did You Know?
Disclosure: The Vision Council gifted me products for my post. I would not post anything that I wouldn't agree/like.
I'm so excited to share this unboxing with you guys! I've been watching other YouTubers show off their Ipsy bags and I've always wanted to sign up.
If you are not familiar with Ipsy it is a monthly beauty subscription of just $10 per month. With no delivery fees. Each month you'll receive a cute pouch with at least 4 to 5 beauty items. They range from sample, deluxe sample or full sizes.
When you sign up on Ipsy.com they ask you a variety of questions from which make up products you use to how you wear your makeup. This questionnaire helps customize your bag to your liking. For just $10 you get to try out beauty products that you were probably eyeing or be introduced to new brands/products. You definitely get your money's worth in each bag.
The following are the items that I received this month. I have links to each items if you are interested in purchasing them. Some of them you can find at Ulta, Walgreens or department stores.
The bag is from Rebecca Minkoff. Unfortunately you can't purchase the same bag but there is a similar pouch from Rebecca Minkoff's line:
